旅程

一般的な観光ルートから一歩踏み出し、クアンシーの「生きた生態系」を発見する旅へ。この旅は、有名なターコイズブルーの滝つぼを訪れるだけではありません。その水源、そこに暮らす人々、そして水が育む生命について理解を深める旅です。

冒険は午前9時00-9:40分頃、ホテルへのお迎えから始まります。まずはメコン川のゆったりとしたクルーズへ。ラオスの「スロー・トラベル」を体験するのに最適なスタートです。

到着後、メインの混雑を避け、特別な森のトレイル（約45分）をトレッキングします。この道は、クアンシーの魅力の源である水源保護区へと続いています。そこでは、古代の木々が泉を守るかのようにそびえ立っています。

この隠れたトレイルを進むと、美しい天然の泉にたどり着きます。水辺の静かな屋外に、地元のカム族の家族が営む小さなオープンエア・レストランがあります。ここは他の観光客がめったに訪れることのない場所です。この素晴らしい自然の広場で、お好みのランチをお楽しみください。この食事は地元コミュニティの直接的な支援につながります。

昼食後、滝の最上部に到着し、メインの滝つぼへと下ります。約2時間半から3時間の自由時間をお楽しみください。ターコイズブルーの滝つぼで泳いだり、リラックスしたり、ジャングルの小道を散策したりできます。

旅は続き、水の流れを追って「クアンシー・ヘリテージ・ライス・ファーム（伝統的な棚田）」へ。滝の水が棚田を潤す様子を見学し、伝統的な製法で搾った新鮮なサトウキビジュースを試飲します。森、水、そして地元の暮らしの間の重要なつながりを目の当たりにするでしょう。

忘れられない一日の締めくくりは、壮大なサンセットクルーズです。ルアンパバーンには午後6時30分頃に戻ります。メコン川での穏やかな帰路は、この旅の静かな余韻に浸るのにぴったりです。

• このツアーは全長6km（3.7マイル）です。最初の1時間は、2kmの上り坂が続くため、ややハードな行程となります。昼食後は、平坦で景色の良い3kmの森林トレイルが続き、最後は542段の急な下り坂となります。快適なハイキングシューズの着用を強くお勧めします。

In the village, your guide will show you around. We will learn about the Hmong and Khmu people’s different roots and ways of life. We will visit the village hospital, school, knife maker, and corn processing plant. If you are lucky, you will meet the village shaman.

We will eat a traditional Hmong dinner prepared by our guide and Hmong host family. (You are welcome to join us in making dinner if you like.)

Day 2: We will wake up at 7:00 to see how Hmong people process rice into candy, have breakfast at 8:00 or 9:00 am. In the morning of the second day, we will experience a traditional ceremony of the Hmong people. We will sacrifice a chicken for the ceremony to pray for our good luck and receive a bracelet from the Hmong people at the ceremony. We will visit a nearby village hospital, school, knife maker, and corn processing plant. If you are lucky, you will meet the village shaman. (You can have opportunities to communicate with the children, such as introducing yourself to them and teaching them a little English. We recommend that you bring stationery that you can buy in Luang Prabang as a gift.) At 10:00 am, we will leave the village and walk  a couple hours to the Nam Pa River where we can take a refreshing swim before boarding our truck for an hour drive  to Manifa Elephant camp.

Check in to the Elephant Camp cottage, have lunch, enjoy elephant experience in the afternoon (Each person will have time to interact with one of the elephants and experience the traditional skills of a Laotian mahout.), then enjoy free time after dinner. Overnight in a private cottage with air conditioning and hot shower.

Day 3: We will get up and have breakfast. You can choose from the following activities (lunch included)
1). Cycling / Kayak to Pak Ou Caves / Mekong sunset cruise (to Luang Prabang)
2). Kayak to Pak Ou Caves / Visit Kuang Si Waterfalls in the afternoon
Transfer back to your hotel in Luang Prabang around 6:00-6:30 PM.

1日目 午前 托鉢に参加し、地元の朝市を訪れ、世界遺産の王宮や仏教寺院をガイドと歩く

• 観光では寺院に入ります。神聖な場所ですので、肌の露出が多い服などは避けてください。

早朝の日の出時刻（5:15～05:45）にガイドがホテルまでお迎えに上がります。ルアンパバーンの街で何世紀にもわたって受け継がれてきた朝の托鉢に地元の人々と一緒に参加します。その後、地元の朝市を訪れます。7:00頃にホテルに戻り、朝食休憩をとります。

ガイドが8:30に再びお迎えに伺います。半島の先端にある小さな公園をご案内します。ナムカーン川がメコン川に合流する地点にあるルアンパバーンについて簡単に説明します。そこから、この国で最も崇拝されている寺院、ワット・シェントーン（Wat Xieng Thong）まで歩きます。ルアンパバーン様式の寺院の典型的な建築様式を見学し、地元の人々の仏教信仰についてガイドが説明します。

つづいて近郊の寺院を巡り、世界遺産の町並みを歩きながら王宮博物館（ Royal Palace museum）を訪れます。 王宮には興味深い歴史的品がたくさん展示されてて、ガイドからラオスの歴史文化や王室について学ぶことがでます。

午前のツアーの最後にプーシの丘（Phousi Hil）に登ります。町の中心にある標高150mの丘に登ると、360度の絶景が広がり、町や多くの寺院、周囲の風景から遠くの山々まで見渡すことができます。その後は、ホテルに戻るか、町で昼食をとるための自由時間です。

1日目 午後 クアンシーの滝を訪れる。モン族の村を訪れる

午後はクアンシーの滝へご案内します。約2時間の自由時間があります。壮大で印象的な滝の自然の美しさを楽しみ、自然保護区の遊歩道を歩く。石灰岩の崖を流れ落ちた水が流れ込んだ大小さまざまなターコイズブルーのプールで泳ぐなど自由にお過ごしください。公園内にある熊の保護センターでは絶滅危惧種に指定されているラオスのツキノワグマをみることもできます。

ルアンパバーンへの帰路、バン・ナ・ウアン（モン族の移住村、Ban Na Uang）に立ち寄ります。ここではもともと高地に住んでいたモン族の人々の暮らしを村人がつくった小さな博物館で学ぶことができます。ルアンパバーン到着後ホテルまでお送りし、1日目の日程を終了します。

2日目 午後 　(1) ボートでメコン川をさかのぼりパクウー洞窟を訪れる。(2) カヤックで洞窟を訪れることもできます。(3)洞窟に行かず引き続き象使い体験を継続することもできます。いずれのオプションもルアンパバーンへの帰路はメコン川のサンセットボートクルーズです　※カヤックと午後の象使い体験は英語ガイドです

オプション1 カヤックでパークウー洞窟へ。メコン川サンセットクルーズ

マニファ・エレファント・キャンプでのビュッフェ・ランチの後、ナムウー川へ向かいカヤックを始めます。川沿いののどかな田園地帯の息をのむような景色を楽しみながらカヤックを漕ぎます、途中Pha Aenと呼ばれる石灰岩の崖を通過します。1時間のカヤックで、最初の目的地であるナムウー川とメコン川の合流地点、パクウーに到着します。有名なパク・ウー洞窟を訪れます。2つの洞窟は、巡礼者たちによって残された、様々な形や大きさの金色の漆塗りの仏像が何千体も所狭しと並んでいます。洞窟を30分ほど探検した後、メコン川でカヤックの第2コースを開始します。マニファ・エレファント・キャンプでカヤックを終えるまで、30分ほどメコン川を漕ぎます。エレファント・キャンプでシャワーを浴び、着替えます。

Take a two-wheeled adventure going out of Luang Prabang city. Pedal on the road along the Mekong river trails to the temples and villages, rice paddies. In the afternoon, enjoy kayaking in the majestic nature on the Mekong River and its tributary, the Ou River, and visit the famous Pak Ou Caves. Learning about local villages and different aspects of life: farming cycle, vegetable grown, domestic animal farming with the warm and enthusiastic greet from friendly kids and locals.

We leave Luang Prabang in the morning, first visiting Ban Xang Khong village on the Mekong River just north of the peninsula. We will then load the bicycles into the car and drive 20 km north (to avoid the hustle and bustle of the national highway). We will again ride our bicycles to Ban Xang Hai village. There you can see the unique distillation process of Lao Lao whisky. We will continue to the Ou River, enjoying the beautiful scenery along the Mekong River. We will visit the village and learn about the life of the local rice paddies and free range buffalo. Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch on the sandy beach on the riverbank.

In the afternoon, we start kayak on the Nam Ou River. We enjoy a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside and see a wonderful nature built limestone cliffs called Pha Aen on the way. 1 hour kayaking takes us to the first destination the confluence of the Nam Ou and Mekong Rivers, Pak Ou. We visit the famous Pak Ou Caves – two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by devoted pilgrims. Exploring the caves about 30 min, we start the second course of the kayaking on the Mekong River. We paddle down the Mekong for 30 minutes until we ended our journey at Manifa Elephant Camp. Shower and change clothes at Elephant Camp. Return to Luang Prabang by car or sunset cruise to Luang Prabang.

Day 2: 7時に起床し、モン族の人々が米を飴に加工する様子を見学、8時に朝食をとり、近くの小学校を訪問します(自己紹介や少し英語を教えるなど、子供たちとコミュニケーションをとる機会もあります。ルアンパバーンで購入できる文房具をお土産に持参されることをお勧めします) 9:30に村を出発し、2日目のホームステイ先であるKalong ong村まで約5時間歩きます。この日の歩行距離は約10kmです。

2日目の夕方、モン族の伝統的な儀式を体験します。幸運を祈るために鶏を生贄にし、その場でモン族の人たちからブレスレットを受け取ります。

Day 3: 早起きして朝食をとります。ホストファミリーに別れを告げ、Phouno Vanh村へ向けて村を出発します。山を登りながら美しい登り坂を楽しみ、川まで下ります。Nam Xuang川で泳いだり、川岸でランチを楽しんだりして、この素晴らしいツアーを締めくくります。ここからルアンパバーンまで車で戻ります。

On our second morning we’ll wake to enjoy breakfast prepared by your guide, say your farewells, and set off again trekking for about 5 hours to the second of two rivers you’ll see on this tour. Feel free to jump in for a swim to cool off before you depart by minivan to conclude this incredible immersion tour. We’ll arrive back in Luang Prabang by about 4:30 p.m.

Itinerary

8:30 a.m. meeting, introduction to group and guides, deposit your luggage in our care while on the tour, and briefing on tour before departure. Begin our drive of about 1.5 hours north of the city, half along a paved road and then along an unpaved road paralleling the beautiful Nam Xuang River. We’ll pass countless villages through rugged mountains on our drive as you leave everything resembling a city far behind you. We’ll cross the Nam Xuang river by small boat and begin our trekking through dense old-growth jungle. The first day of the tour is largely shaded as we make our way to our homestay villages.

On this tour we alternatively visit and homestay at two villages, one Khmu and the other Hmong to reduce the impact on either one in particular. We will take a thorough tour of one and then homestay at the other so that you can explore both ethnic groups in these remote villages. Our guides will cook for you, help translate if you would like to talk with anyone in the village, and will inform you about any aspect of local life.

On the second morning we’ll wake for breakfast, bid our new friends well, and begin trekking about 5 hours through more open terrain so that we can take in more countryside. Parts of this trail are down a medium grade. We’ll arrive at a the Nam Pa River where we can take a refreshing swim before boarding our truck for a 1 hour return trip to Luang Prabang by about 4:30 p.m. thus concluding this memorable remote tour.

We visit the famous Pak Ou Caves – two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by devoted pilgrims. Exploring the caves about 30 min, we start the second course of the kayaking on the Mekong River. We paddle down the Mekong for 30 minutes until we ended our journey at Manifa Elephant Camp. There we enjoy a beautiful buffet style lunch at the restaurant – overlooking the Mekong River and free-roaming elephants.

After lunch break, this adventure destination package takes you to Kuang Si Waterfall – you will have time to explore the three layered Kuang Si Waterfall walk the trails of the nature reserve and swim in the refreshing turquoise water pools and visit the bear rescue center.

Our way back into Luang Prabang we make a stop at Ban Na Uan hmong village where you have the chance to experience Hmong village life, meet some of the local people and see the makings of their traditional embroidery crafts. From here it is time to make our way into town, typically this is between 5:30pm – 6:00pm – drop off location is at the post office on the main street, near the night market or at your accommodation by prior arrangement or on request

We begin our 2 hours trek through beautiful jungle, rice paddies. Our first destination is a Khmu village Ban Hoay Fai. We will have a lunch break in the village.

After lunch, we will continue another 40 min trek to Tad Sae Waterfall. Each rainy season these falls erupt with life as the extra water from the mountains plunge over the flat rocks. The natural pools at the base of the waterfall are a must for a swim.

We stay 2 hours in the waterfall and take a boat to the opposite village Ban Aen. From there, we go back to Luang Prabang by vehicle. (4:00-5:00PM)
