Kuang Si Heritage Rice Farm

What an amazing day! We were picked up on time from our guesthouse and our guide, “Ron”…was absolutely phenomenal. His patience and grace, knowledge were incredible. (He spent 8 years as a monk and his .kindness eradicated) From the time at the rice farmers house where we learned our to plant rice…all the way to eating a delicious lunch from the fields that we were just working in…was so unique and educational. From there we headed up to the waterfall on the farmer’s tractor and then hiked to the stunningly beautiful waterfalls for pictures and time for a refreshing swim. The afternoon ended with a calming sunset cruise back to town. Highly recommend this tour…it was a highlight of our trip to Luang Prabang.

Nous avons passé une très bonne journée avec Da, qui nous a expliqué pleins d’histoires sur le Laos. Nous avons eu la chance d’être seules pour l’activité ce qui était génial. Les activités proposés sont très variées, découverte multiples autour du riz, de la plantation à la cuisson. La randonnée est intense avec la chaleur mais l’arrivée dans les cascades fait vraiment du bien. Le trajet en bateau est magnifique et Ta est vraiment un conducteur très gentil. Merci pour cette sublime journée !

Vone was amazing!!!! He was so knowledgeable and was funny too! We learnt about everything and he never failed to not know the answer to our weird questions hahah. The rice farm was such an experience and the farmer was so lovely too. The lunch was amaaaazingggg! and we as we got to plant, harvest and prepare rice we then got to eat the rice and it was so tasty! We then went by tractor to the waterfalls and we learnt the history of the waterfall and got to swim for ages! We also visited the bear sanctuary. afterwards, we headed back to the boat for a lovely sunset cruise. i would recommend this day 100%

Ein wundervoller Tag. organisatorisch alles perfekt gelaufen. Da war ein toller Guide, sprach gut Englisch und hat uns sehr viel über das regionale Leben erzählt. Er war auch sehr offen für Rückfragen und hat uns gut über den Ablauf informiert. Der Abstecher auf die Reisfarm war wirklich toll und echt informativ. Der Spot zum Mittag war traumhaft, das Essen war lecker und wirklich sehr viel. Es gab sogar die Möglichkeit für einen kurzen Nap in Ruhe nach dem Mittag. Die Fahrt mit dem Traktor war witzig. Absolutes Highlight war jedoch die Wanderung zum oberen Teil, nahe der Quelle. Nicht nur die Wanderung, zum Teil des Wasserfalls – sondern noch etwas darüber. unglaublich schön und sehr ruhig. lohnt sich absolut. Der Aufstieg ist allerdings wirklich anstrengend bei Sonne – sollte man nicht unterschätzen – aber lohnt sich vor allem deswegen, weil der Weg zur Quelle dann nicht mehr viel anstrengender ist als zum oberen Teil des Wasserfalls. danke ✌️

Had a truly wonderful tour. Visiting a local farm, see and experience how they work and live in beautiful surroundings was unique. The hike and the waterfall itself was the peak of the tour, it was breathtaking. My guide, Da, did an amazing job, with a huge knowledge that he happily shared, with great history and stories about the area and the country. He was very observant to my needs and was happy to share, always with a smile

We had a fabulous time during our tour, it was such a great mix of activities. From the boat ride ro the rice farm, to how to learn the different parts of harvesting rice, to the amazing lunch at the rice farm and then the hike to see and swim in the falls, it was just such a great day. And Da, our guide, was excellent! It was such a peaceful and beautiful day. The tour ended with a ride back on the river during sunset, which was such a perfect day end to a great day!

Very nice your with all of the highlights of the area. The hike is strenuous but doable. The Rice Farm Experience is very nice with delicious food.

What an incredible experience from start to finish! This excursion was so much more than just visiting a waterfall. The rice farm experience was fascinating and hands-on. I got to sow rice, plough the field with a water buffalo, use a pestle and mortar to break the husks, sift the rice, grind it and even cook it. It gave me a real appreciation of the hard work involved in producing rice. We were then treated to a beautiful lunch, which was thoroughly deserved! The tractor ride through the local villages was great fun, followed by an hour’s hike through stunning scenery to Kuang Si Waterfall. The views were amazing, and having the opportunity to swim in the beautiful turquoise water was a real highlight. To finish the day, we enjoyed a sunset cruise on the Mekong River – the perfect ending to an already fantastic excursion. This was a wonderful combination of local culture, authentic experiences, beautiful scenery I can’t thank Da enough for such a wonderful day
