Tour guide was also very accommodating to us changing plans and having lunch during our tourDagny D2022-07-08A must do! A must do in Luang Prabang! We had an amazing day visiting the beautiful waterfalls and watching rescue bears in the sanctuary, followed by a delicious lunch overlooking the Mekong river! We met the elephants and joined them for their bath, a great experience! We were also happy to know that the elephant s where not chained or anything, had great roaming place in the woods and got to swim when they wanted :) further we had a relaxing an beautiful tour on the slow boat in the Mekong river, stoping in the caves and overlooking the beautiful nature. A great experience, and great guide! Would recommend any day :) -Dagny and Tiril…Antoine E2022-07-06Fun tour and great guide I cannot exactly remember our guide's name but I believe it was Somsa (sorry if I wrote it wrong). He was a great and fun guide and I really enjoyed the trip and his explanations of the various places, the origin of the Pak Ou cave statues etc. Here was the tour exactly: 1- Drive (by minibus) to the Kuang Si Waterfalls. 2- Spend around two hours exploring Kuang Si on our own. They are very nice to see, but you should get anti-slip shoes if you decide to climb above the waterfall since it is VERY slippery on the way down with the steps covered in water and moss (in fact I had hiking shoes and still slipped). 3- Drive from Kuang Si to the Elephant Sanctuary near Pak Ou. This drive was a bit exhausting honestly so you might get carsick. 4- Lunch at the Elephant Sanctuary. Unlike the other comments I didn't see any elephants in chains. In fact one of the elephants had been roaming around freely and ended up basically with his trunk on our table, being fed bananas from the other tourists. 5- Boat from sanctuary to Pak Ou. This is fun. 6- Pak Ou exploration. Some nice caves, lower and upper cave. Around 240 steps to climb up to the upper cave. The guide explained the history there. 7- Pak Ou back to Luang Prabang by boat. A sunset cruise. Overall I think it is great value for money. You visit the main "far away" attractions and get a boat cruise and lunch too for a reasonable price. I think this might have been a little better if we took the boat from closer to Kuang Si to Pak Ou. The boat rides were fun but the minibus rides were exhausting. A+ for the tour guide Samsa and for the bus/boat driver!…Félicie J2022-07-05GENIAL!!! Experience inoubliable! DO experience We had a great day with Somsak, a great and passionate guide who took us to so many nice places. Not only did we see Pak Ou cave and Kuang Si waterfalls, but we also got to travel by boat on the Mekong river, share lunch with elephants passing by, and get to know Lao people better. I recommend strongly! Khop chai de Somsak for sharing with us your love for beautiful Luang Prabang :)…Khris M2022-05-01Great experience of caves, village and waterfall We had visited the Whisky village and Pak Ou caves waterfalls in the morning.
