Kuang Si Heritage Rice Farm

The Kuang Si Heritage Rice Farm, established in 2025, is a living landscape celebrating the heritage of Lao rice cultivation. Just five kilometers from Kuang Si Waterfalls, our two hectares of terraced paddies are nourished year-round by the waterfall’s waters and the flow of the Mekong River. At the heart of the farm stands a traditional Lao stilt house, carefully relocated to welcome guests into an authentic cultural setting.

Rice farming in Laos is more than agriculture—it forms the foundation of community life, spirituality, and the cultural landscape. The Muang Fai irrigation system, the seasonal rhythms of planting and harvest, and the rituals honoring the rice spirit (Mae Phosop) have shaped both land and people for centuries.

The Kuang Si Heritage Rice Farm carries this tradition forward as an immersive space where visitors can experience firsthand how rice connects food, ecology, and community. Here, farming is not only seen, but felt; not only taught, but shared.
